He was a member of the Judicial Organ for more than seven years, serving as a Senior Officer, Executing Officer, Judicial Secretary, Civil Municipal Ad- Hoc Judge, Civil Circuit Ad- Hoc Judge, Alternate Judge of Oral Trial in the Accusatory Criminal System and Assistant Magistrate in the First Superior Civil Court.
Luis Mencomo is a graduate of the Law School of the University of Panama and holds a Postgraduate degree in Mediation and Conciliation from the Universidad del Istmo. Also, he completed the Enabling Course for the Accusatory Criminal System.
He currently belongs to the Civil Procedure Reform Commission of the National Bar Association (period 2019-2021). He is the author of several writings published in the magazine Sapientia of the Supreme Court of Justice, among which the outstanding are: Diffuse Interests as New Guardianship Rights and The Precautionary Principle and its Jurisprudential Recognition in Panama.
Practicing lawyer since 2009, highly specialized in Civil, Commercial and Administrative Litigation. Currently, as a member of the BRIG Litigation Department, he advises companies in the financial, banking, insurance and reinsurance sector, construction, among others, in the effective resolution of their conflicts.
